Field Notes Print Info

We spotted this cool coyote one evening in Yellowstone, and since coyotes just happen to be about my favorite animal of all time, well, I had to grab the camera and see about getting a photo.

Now, the tricky part here was the light – we were running out of it – and FAST! I quickly set up the camera and put glass on this guy – but he was blocked by all kinds of brush – arrgh!

However, I knew that if I stuck with him I’d have a chance. Of course, by now there was a small crowd starting to gather (remember, I’m in Yellowstone in sight of the road with a big camera) and the crowd was beginning to make him a bit nervous. He moved off from the brush and into a grassy area – but each time I looked at him in the viewfinder he was blocked by grass – and it was playing havoc with the autofocus.

Then finally, for just a quick moment, he stepped into the prefect spot with the last little bit of daylight. My shutter speed was slow and of the four shots I captured, only this was survived the edit.

I hope you like it as much as I do :)

About Our Prints....

We currently sell both individual prints and completely framed and ready-to-hang prints. Our framed prints are professionally matted, mounted and framed.

Here's a sample of our basic mat and frame:

Framed prints purchased though us are generally a better deal than taking a loose print to your local frame shop since we have a pretty significant discount that we pass along to you. When you receive your print in the mail, it's ready to hang and even comes with the hardware for doing so.

Please note that if you'd like another type of print (canvas for example) or another frame style, we can certainly accommodate you, just use the contact us page and we'll customize the artwork to make it perfect for your home.

Warranty

Our framed prints are guaranteed for as long as you own them against wear, fading, or deterioration. Loose prints are also guaranteed for as long as you own them provided you have them framed under glass using archival materials. We want you to LOVE your prints, so we offer a refund as long as the print or framed print is returned in like new condition within 30 days.

Signature

All prints are signed in one of the lower corners (usually the right hand corner).

Delivery

Delivery time varies and depends on a number of factors, but we always strive to get your prints delivered to you as quickly as possible. I personally inspect each and every piece before it leaves our building. If I'm out of town taking more photos, it can cause a delay, but a good rule of thumb is that a loose print will ship within 2 weeks and a framed print within 3 weeks. That time is significantly shorter if I'm in town at the time the order is placed. If you need a print done by a certain date, you can contact me and I'll be happy to give you an estimated delivery date.

Discounts

We are now offering quantity discounts if you are interested in two or more pieces. Simply contact me with the sizes and names of the images you are interested in and I will be happy to get you a quote. The more pieces you order, the better the discount.

Thanks for your interest!

Great shot of the coyote. Never saw one live but I have heard them.

Great photo but the he looks as tired as I feel. Or maybe he was tired of posing? :-)

He is very pretty, I agree….
but I now HATE coyotes!!! My little 1/2 Chihuahua
1/2 Pit Bull girl thought she was tough enough to
chase them when they came up near my back fence.
She only weighs 17 lbs. She managed to slip through
the gate to my 9 ga. 6′ chain link fence and they
came very near killing her! She managed to break
loose when I shined a flashlight at them, and dashed
back through the gate, across the yard and into my arms. I rushed her to the vet and she was in shock. It took hours of work to save her and the cost was $4k!
So, yeah… I’m not very fond of enchroaching coyotes!
And don’t tell me to move back into the city and let them have “their” domain! Sorry, but I have lived in that place for over 40 years, so I consider it MY HABITAT!!! The REAL problem is that the conservationists have gone overboard and banned hunting the rascals. They don’t have many natural enemies, except man… so they breed like bunnies and overpopulate their own domain! Hunting them keeps their numbers in check so they STAY OUT OF THE CITIES!!! Its just common sense!

Oh yes, I know all about losing critters to coyotes! The only thing I will shoot them with is a rifle! Picture a cow giving birth, calf half out, and you ride up only to see a coyote take off from the half eaten calf…and it is still alive!!! Small wolves is all they are, and you are right. With little predator control, they breed like rabbits. #$%^! coyotes! Let them go into a town or suburb and eat someone’s beloved pet. Then see how wonderful they think they are.
